Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the No Notes app and the website at nonotes.app ("the Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
The Service is operated by No Notes ("we", "us"). Contact: report@nonotes.app.
1. What No Notes is
No Notes is an audio app that turns public internet drama (primarily public Reddit posts) into anonymized, voice-acted, dramatized cases you can listen to and vote on. We do not republish source posts. We rewrite, anonymize, and voice-act them. See the Content Guidelines for how we source and edit material.
Voices in the app — Quinn, Mira, Sage, Rachel, Sloane Madison — are AI-generated TTS personas. They are not real people, do not represent real opinions, and have no off-app existence.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older to use the Service. By signing in, you confirm that you are. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the Service, email us and we will remove the account.
3. Your account
We use Sign in with Apple. We receive a stable, anonymous user identifier from Apple. We do not receive your real name, email address, or any other Apple account detail unless you explicitly share it. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. Deletion is irrevocable and removes your votes, saves, and report history within 30 days.
4. What you can do
- Listen to cases.
- Cast a verdict (vote).
- Save, share, and report cases.
- Block other users you encounter in any social surface.
5. What you cannot do
- Use the Service if you are under 18.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source data, audio files, or transcripts in bulk.
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or target any individual — including any person who may be the original author of a public post we adapted.
- Attempt to identify, dox, or contact original Reddit posters based on cases you hear in the app.
- Republish, rebroadcast, or commercially redistribute audio, transcripts, or cover art from the Service.
- Submit content (where applicable) that infringes copyright, contains personal data of others, or violates the Content Guidelines.
Violations may result in case removal, account suspension, or account termination at our sole discretion.
6. Content we publish
We hold editorial responsibility for everything we publish. Every case passes a two-person editorial review before it goes live. We anonymize source material aggressively (target ≥95% PII recall) and dramatize for narrative pacing. Cases are presented as dramatized adaptations, not factual reports.
We do not claim copyright over the underlying public posts. We do claim copyright over our adaptations, scripts, voice recordings, cover art, and the app itself.
7. Reporting and kill-switch
You can report any case in two taps. A case that receives three independent reports is auto-hidden pending re-review. We may also remove cases unilaterally and at any time without notice.
If you find a case you believe identifies a real person, contains harmful content about a vulnerable individual, or violates the Content Guidelines, email report@nonotes.app with the case ID. We respond within 5 business days.
8. Purchases and subscriptions
If you purchase a subscription or in-app product, billing is handled by Apple. Refunds follow Apple's standard refund policy and are not issued by us. Cancel any subscription from the App Store at any time.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided as is. The cases are entertainment. They are not therapy, not legal advice, not relationship advice, not psychiatric guidance. If you are in distress, call or text 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line). If you are outside the US, contact your local emergency services.
We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are surfaced in the app and require re-acceptance before continued use. The current version is always at nonotes.app/terms.
12. Governing law
[VERIFY: legal review] These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Amsterdam.
